OUR STORY

How it all started...

Pastor Brad had no intentions of starting a church community and zero aspirations of being a lead pastor. Through the movement of God, the input of mentors, and a variety of circumstances it became abundantly clear that we were supposed to start a church community in Bellevue! Sent out with the blessing of Pastor Ken DeChant and Journey Church in Fremont, we began our new work in Bellevue. We began as Journey Church Bellevue and within a year transitioned into our independently functioning church with the Assemblies of God: Hope.

Expanding the vision...

COVID was a game changer for all of us. From the beginning, we knew we wanted to serve our community consistently, creatively, and compassionately. As a Worship Gathering, we've moved locations three times in four years. We currently rent space from Seybert Church next to Wendy's. But, Church is not a building; it's a people. Thus, to practice the Great Commission, we began a Community Dinner that heads outside every summer as a way to welcome everyone and anyone to the table of Hope - the table of Jesus.

Where we are headed...

Hope is here to move people one step closer to Jesus. We have developed into a community passionate about the mission of God, the Great Commission. We seek to live intentionally in every area of our lives to move one step closer to Jesus. And, we love our community! We dream of continuing to spread the Hope of Jesus throughout all Bellevue: one person, one family, and one community at a time.
