Thieves (in Paradise?)

Jesus says to the thief: "Today you will be with Me in paradise." We typically might think Jesus meant to say "heaven" instead of "paradise," but why didn't He say that then? Let's ask some good questions about "paradise" and see what we can learn from the Scriptures and the person of Jesus.
